Apprenticeships
The School at Annapolis Woodworks has started an apprenticeship program to replicate what was done in the 1700's. The apprentice essentially became the master's right arm and was treated as a member of the family for several years while learning the trade.
Guidelines:
•Apprenticeships are for a finite length of time ranging from a minimum of two months to a maximum of four months.
•The Apprentice and Troy will agree on projects and goals in writing before beginning apprenticeship.
•Apprentice is responsible for his or her own transportation, meals & lodging.
•Apprentice is responsible for enrolling in all courses offered during the apprenticeship at a reduced tuition rate.
•Apprentice is responsible for shop clean up, machine/tool maintenance and helping with lunch during the duration of his or her apprenticeship.
Once accepted, candidates are required to have taken Handtool Joinery before further consideration for the program can be made.

Scholarship Fund
The School at Annapolis Woodworks Scholarship Fund allows woodworkers who cannot afford tuition to receive a superior woodworking education. We are committed to providing woodworking instruction to future generations and this is made possible by the generosity of our patrons. If you are interested in attending classes at The School at Annapolis Woodworks, but cannot afford them, the Scholarship Fund can help by paying for you. If you meet the criteria below, simply send your resume (including all woodworking experiences), two references and a letter describing your need for the scholarship (including what class you are interested in) to address below.

Scholarship Criteria
•The scholarship may be used for course tuition only. Applicants are required to submit the course deposit which will be refunded at the end of the course. Maximum scholarship award is $1,000.
•Scholarships will be awarded to deserving persons based on need, exisiting skills and desired skills. Preference will be given to applicants enrolling in week long courses.
•Students with a yearly family income greater than $40,000 are not eligible of a scholarship.
•Scholarship recipients are eligible for one scholarship per year.
•The School at Annapolis Woodworks Scholarship Fund Committee does not discriminate upon race, gender, employment status, or sexual orientation.
•Scholarship recipients will be required to write to the Scholarship Fund Committee and describe his or her experience including the quality and usefulness of the course at its conclusion.
